Introducing Art Law Talks, a New Webinar Series

Join the ALO’s Legal Director, Martha Rans, on Wednesday evenings for a (virtual) happy hour glass of wine and conversation with a range of experts in legal issues relevant to artists and arts organizations across Canada.

Our first webinar will be on “The Rights of Performing Artists through Covid-19” and will take place on Wednesday April 15 from 5-6pm. Join us for a happy hour glass of wine in conversation with entertainment lawyer Byron Pascoe of Edwards PC, Creative Law.

Byron will provide general practical take-aways focused on rights and obligations of performing artists relating to the COVID-19 crisis, for example regarding venues, and the members of a performing artist’s team. Note that his remarks will *not* cover specific government programs to help artists during this difficult time.

Art can be messy. Artists’ Legal Outreach (ALO) and Pacific Legal Education and Outreach (PLEO) can help.

The Art Law Talks series is made possible through support from the City of Vancouver’s Cultural Services Division.
